Fairtrade

Introduction

Trutex have launched the first full range of FAIRTRADE cotton school wear for the 2008/2009 season.

The FAIRTRADE Mark ensures small-scale cotton farmers in developing countries receive a fair and stable price.  They also receive the additional Fairtrade Premium for community development projects such as promoting health awareness in schools.

The development of a Fairtrade cotton range of school uniform is significant as changing consumer attitudes create a demand for ethically sourced and produced goods. Research has shown that consumers want to know that the clothes that their children wear have not incurred a humanitarian cost within the production process.
